Here is a nice Capri, Overpriced but nice. Especially when a #1 Trailer Queen is $11,200 according to Hagerty.

Condition #1 vehicles are the best in the world. The visual image is of the best vehicle, in the right colors, driving onto the lawn at the finest concours. Perfectly clean, the vehicle has been groomed down to the tire treads. Painted and chromed surfaces are mirror-like. Dust and dirt are banned, and materials used are correct and superbly fitted. The one word description for #1 vehicles is "concours."

Is that your car? - your signature doesn't say
where you're from.

Well, the Capri has been on e-bay for the last week. At this time the bidding is up to $11,100. Looking at the bidding history it look like either someone is trying to drive the price up to the reserve, two newbies are bidding or someone is messing around with no intension on paying for it. The two bidders have a feedback rating of 0 & 1.

The auction is ending today and it will be interesting to see if it reaches its reserve and if it actually sells.

Small nitpick; the largest engine available was the 3.0 liter Essex V6.

Hi Zephyrgary,
You are correct that the 3.0L was available in England. But Here in the USA the 2.8L was the largest engine available.

I know. The final UK version was with the fuel injected 2.8, of which I owned one brand new, The 2.8 made more horses but had less torks. Lovely car that I wound up to 130 mph on more than one occasion.

Hi Zephyrgary,
You had a nice car. How long were you in England? Not that many on this side of the pond knew that Ford built 2 different V4 and V6 in Europe - Cologne and Essex.

I am thinking the reserve on this Capri is somewhere around $13 or $13.5K, since the asking price on Craigslist was $15K.

Anyone else have a guess on the reserve?

I was English until I became American. I got here in 84. Peteleo my favorite was the German 2600RS, which has the added benefit of being LHD.

Wow! went for $12,900,with 49 bids.
Is this a new record for a stock US spec Capri?
