I spoke to the seller. I just could not get a transport to transport the car to Chicago for a decent price. The car has no tiltle.

Hi Reggie,
How much were you quoted to ship to Chicago? Open trailer would normally be about $900.

Cheers,
Bob

I contacted the seller, suggesting he should just get it titled. He replied with an expletive-filled e-mail.

Has anyone looked at the car or looked into getting a title from CA?

Look at the top of the struts in the engine bay photos. They've been welded (and poorly painted). Sketches me out that something questionable might have been done to it.

If it goes for cheap enough it would be worth throwing a cage in and some new tires and running it in a few races though.

The ad had disappeared before the last 2 comments, I'm afraid.

Common practice. The tops of the struts were usually the first place where rust showed and then penetrated and most simply welded over the top and went on their merry way.

Essential for passing the British MOT back in the day.
