I know you appreciate the model world, you would have enjoyed being in the town of Bourton on Water. I am currently in the U.K. and took a couple of pics in the Motoring Museum there, this guy has collected almost every Ford model available in the U.K. The model town was cool too, here are a few pics of that as well with my wife lurking about the model.

Thanks Brett. I love those miniature villages, and that 1/43 model collector/maker is over the top, shares my goal of telling Ford history through a model collection. _________________ European Ford Collector

Colin Neale Tribute Diorama by Michael, on Flickr
Colin Neale Tribute Diorama: Colin Neale worked for Briggs as a stylist in the early 1950s. When Ford of Britain bought Briggs in 1953, Neale was made the head of Ford of Britain's then new design department. Neale gets the credit for designing the Mk II CZZ cars and over saw all British Ford design through the Consul Capri. Neale moved to Dearborn in 1958 and worked on the Thunderbird, Lincoln Continental, and the compact Fairlane before moving on again to Chrysler in 1962. Neale settled in the Detroit area and had a restored Consul Capri which he would take to car shows.
Roy Brown Jr Tribute Diorama (redo) by Michael, on Flickr
Roy Brown Jr Tribute Diorama: The addition to my collection of some new models prompted me to revisit the Roy Brown Jr tribute diorama that I first created in 2013. Roy Brown Jr was a designer at Ford for several decades. His first job was the 1955 Lincoln Futura, and his second job was the 1958 Edsel. After the Edsel debacle, Ford sent Brown to Dagenham, England where he received high marks for the Mk I Cortina, other jobs while at Ford of Britain were the Anglia Estate, the Mk III Zephyr, and the Corsair. Back to Dearborn by 1966 where he worked on the second gen Econoline and Lincoln Mercury interiors. _________________ European Ford Collector |

Yes, the Lincoln Futura is the Batmobile "prequel." _________________ European Ford Collector |

Practical Classics' Reader's Poll Tribute by Michael, on Flickr
Last month the British magazine Practical Classics published the results of a reader's poll for the top 100 collector's vehicles of 2016. For me there were surprises both for what was on the list and what was not. However there were eight Fords on the list, which I have assembled here as Vangaurds models. The rankings were: #92: Sierra, #89: Granada, #76: FWD Escort, #73: Consul Capri, #61: Fiesta, #44: RWD Escort, #7: Capri, #4: Cortina.
