This guy just dropped his price

That is RS Escort on this forum, I actually bought my Cortina from him.

I have a couple of options in the wings...problem I had with the S2000 Cortina was that it was too nice for a regular track car but too fast and 'racy' for regular street use plus I wasn't getting to drive it often enough.

I would recommend this S2000 swap over any other though, not cheap but well worth it in terms of price/performance and I would really recommend it for more of a street/resto rod than mine was.

I am sure the buyer will finish the bits I hadn't done (dash, carpet etc) and then proudly display the result - he comes across as a great 'car' guy.

PS. Pity I can't fit that S2000 drivetrain in a Lotus Elan - now that would be even more "interesting" than in the Cortina!

PPS. never did measure the S2000 for fitting in an Anglia...now there is something which could also be "interesting"

The madness continues.

Oh the options. I wanted to do a EcoBoost into my Anglia, actually there's many things I would love to do, money and learning how-to are always a momentary draw back. More so the money..

I was thinking when my x-flow is tired, possibly a 1.0 Ecoboost would be nice, plenty of power and torque for such a small block, I was reading somewhere the Cortina bellhousing/gearbox bolts up to it. Must find out where I saw that.

Aftermarket engine management still not available AFAIK for the 1.0

Otherwise I'd say ship over a MK1 Escort, Possibly might look into that option when we take a trip to England.

Just got back from a trip to the UK, lots of Escorts for sale, some of them LHD but be very careful, some of the Brits have turned basic Escorts, especially the Mk1's into alleged Twin Cams etc
