It should be a Lotus Cortina for this asking price??

Original owner bought the Cortina new from Gil Hile Lincoln Mercury dealership in San Bruno, California and took delivery in London, England while on vacation. A U.K. license plate was issued so he and the family drove around England for two weeks after
that shipped to California.

I'm the second owner since 2008. At that time it had 9K miles on a rebuilt original engine and transmission. I've since driven 55K miles in 9 years.
Restoration was started in 2008. Re-paint black cherry ( showing age ), Re-done: Interior, suspension, steering box, radiator, bumpers etc.

Pertronix, MSD, electric fuel pump and radiator fan, balanced drive shaft, Romac harmonic balancer, 4.5" Cortina MK2 GT rims with 175/70x13 Michelins, Retrosound stereo with XM, Wipac driving lamps on EnFo brackets. Includes jack, manual, delivery brochure. Original keys. Nothing missing.

No accidents ever but some small dings before painting. A small bit of rust now developing near lower bottom corner of driver door. Car runs and handles perfect.

Had it since 2008 and he is going to have it a lot longer for that asking price.

Is that car as clean as it looks? It presents well in the photos but the price tag is hefty.

Yes, I restored it in 2008. Maybe the best MK1 GT 4D in this Country.
It now has flaws in the paint but otherwise needs nothing else.

Calls were coming in the minute i listed it. They are offering in the low 20's
including one Aussie.

I know what the car is worth considering it's condition and it has history. Most want to flip it, like what happened to the 105E Estate i sold a couple of years ago. Short time later sold for 2K more.

I want mid 20's. That's a fair price. If not, ok. Next year will sell for sure.

Pete, Good luck with the sale and don't sell it for any less than you want for it. Its a nice car and if I hadn't just purchased a new GT350 I would have been knocking on your door.

Pete I had a great response on this UK site. with my Vauxhall Cresta.

http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/
Free ad with 6 pics. Put it up on a Saturday: chap from Wales called me on Sunday, paid for it on Tuesday and picked it up on Thursday. Still got the Zephyr of course.
Cheers

Thanks, Brent. Congrats on your new GT350.

Hi Gary,

Thanks for the site. Trying to avoid overseas buyers, prefer to sell in California for now where the car belongs. One potential buyer lives in San Mateo and has seen the car driven locally. He'll stop by Thursday. If no luck i'll keep it until next year. Pete
