Interesting to see what this one will actually go for.

A remarkably nice one, but that pre sale estimate seems a bit optimistic.

These cars are now being sold to collectors and not to car guys.

Someone pays absolutely insane money for a car like this and that then becomes the baseline (+/- depending on condition) for subsequent offerings.

Unlike Ferraris and Porsches these cars have ceased to be made so what remains will demand whatever the market will sustain.

Should have kept mine (both of them) but $400, for each one, seemed like a good price at the time

Isn't hindsight wonderful, I bought my 67 early Mk2 Lotus in 1973 for 300 dollars at the used car lot I worked at the time. I knew it was a steal then but the sales people had not a clue to what it was, they thought it was just another Cortina that burnt oil. I drove and slalomed that car until I blew the engine in 1984, I then sold the remains for 600 dollars. I do now regret not keeping it but that is hindsight???

Quote "this Cortina offers a perfect opportunity to acquire a great candidate for rallies, tours, and spirited driving of all kinds." unquote. Who are they kidding? It will be bought and put in somebodies show collection and not do another mile. Cortinas are made to be driven.
