1961 Ford Taunus wagon 17m.
Very rare! Just a handful in the U.S.
From Germany.
Not running.
Complete.
Will need to be towed off property.
$5,000 or best offer.

Personally I thinks it should be a $1000 car at most.

If someone buys this car i know of another one in a junkyard in Minnesota. Correction it is in Montana.

A P3 station wagon is also rare in Europe, certainly even more in the US.

Here is an example of a restored Ford P3 station wagon, also in white-red: a nice car found in Sweden:

I looked at this last week. This wagon is a huge project. It would be questionable even if he drops a zero from the asking price. The dealbreaker for me is the busted windshield... however if someone has a Taunus P3 windshield for sale in the USA, I might be tempted to reconsider!

Carl

PS: it currently has a partially disassembled Cologne V6 (displacement unknown), but is still running the 3 speed column shift manual (the ad states it's an automatic).

Hi Carl,
I don't have a windshield but I may have an idea or two of how to possibly locate one.

1) Do you have Hagerty Insurance or have a friend who does? They have a parts locating service that could possibaly find one for you.

2) Hemmings has a similar service.

https://www.hemmings.com/parts-locator/

Hope this helps.

Let us know if you buy it and post more picture and info about it.

Bob

I had a '66 Taunus 20M 2 door wagon a long time ago.
The owner gave it to me.I ended up giving it to a guy (Chris -
Trosh) in the LA area.
Wonder if it's still around.

The replacement of windshields is a major problem with restorations of the old Euro-Ford, since there are already problems with original spare parts in good condition for a long time. There are not many of these parts left.

Original windshields in different states are offered from time to time, but can not be shipped because of the risk of breakage. They must be picked up by the buyer at the seller, which is of course very cumbersome. Not interesting for export to the USA.

New laminated glass (as a replica) should be no problem for shipping, but they are replicas, where there is always a residual risk that the part does not fit properly during assembly somewhere.

In any case offers the Ford vintage parts dealer Motomobil in Germany, a windshield replacement (laminated glass/replica) for the P3 estate car. A small tip, if in the US no replacement windshield can be found:

https://www.motomobil.com/windscreen-sedan-estate-clear-laminated-glass,3237,5600260-1.html

https://www.motomobil.com/contact,2346.html

Only a single P3 station wagon is currently offered in Germany:

https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/ford-17m-p3-ko/1074470821-216-9100

Its a nice and rare car.

Greetings

I got a new Anglia windscreen from Pilkinton Classics out of Nevada I believe is where they are.

I ended up paying about $420 Cad which works out to be just over 300 US at the time and that was to get it shipped up to Blaine WA.

Quick hop over the border.

English suppliers could not insure it. It came well packaged and cheaper than from the UK.

Also sticker says made in England.

A ton of stuff there, would be really handy for the 'uni-lingual' if it was in English.

Unfortunately I fear this car was scrapped (although it might resurface being sold by a tow yard). The seller had owned it 20+ years but had it stored at his parent's house. The parents passed, and his sister was prepping the house for sale. As of last week, the cars that were in the back yard are gone. The seller claimed the Taunus "went to heaven".

That's sad - he could have just given it away instead.
That's what happened to my '65 Corsair 4 door, automatic.I sold it
to a guy in LA who said he wanted it for his English parents.I put
a lot of time/money into it,completely rebuilding/repainting it.
He started converting it to a 4 speed,& it ended up going
to a Pick& Pull, where it was eventually crushed.
