Hello:

I discovered this web site by accident and registered in order to pass on some hopefully interesting information to British Ford fans here in the USA and Canada. For well over a year there has been a ivory/white circa 1958 Ford Zodiac for sale in Connecticut. At least it was still for sale as of late autumn 2009.

The car is parked by the side of Rte 44 going west out of Norfolk. I don't get up that way very often, but if some British Ford fan out there is interested, let me know. I'd be willing to take a drive up (a little over an hour), see what I can find out and take some pictures if anyone is interested. The car, if I remember correctly, is complete, and had no significant rust. My guess is that it was in storage for many years. That would account for its relatively sound condition which will deteriorate quickly if it continues to stay out in the elements.

So if anyone out there thinks this is something to pursue, let me know. My name is Dave Whall and live in West Hartford, CT. The phone # is 860 521-4066 and the email is whall_david@yahoo.com.

Many thanks and good luck with preserving Ford cars in America.

DW

PS-- I also note your web site posted some articles on UK Fords from the 1950's. You may or may not know that Consumer Reports also did reviews of Ford products from that decade. I remember seeing in a library a favorable review of an early Ford Consul, and I have a 1953 review of the Anglia along with the Austin A-30 and the VW Beetle. As you may guess the Beetle came out ahead, but the Anglia was not without praise. As for the A-30, the less said the better!

That sounds a lot like the one that sold recently that had been on Ebay. Although that was a Zephyr, it is an easy mistake to make. If it is the same car, then it was recently purchased by a reader on Bring a trailer. If it is a Zodiac, I am sure folks here would like to hear about it.

DW,

I really appreciate your effort to connect this car to a new owner. If it is other than the car Gary just discribed, I hope ot finds a new owner, and all-weather storage soon.

Michael
