Did all anglia 105E come with factory radio? And if so why does my friends Anglia radio say cortina on it ? He's had this car from new and claims it came that way. Then I have my Anglia radio. It has ford on it. Why ? Those any one have a picture of what a factory Anglia radio looks like? Serial number or something. Thanks Gregory. _________________ MR. EXPORT MAN |

I don't if this helps at all but I had a 1966 Anglia super that had an additional panel in the lower center dash that contained a radio and lighter and I think a windshield washer pump??? It was a long time ago but I do remember the panel was like the one in the picture and I don't recall any mention of Cortina on the radio, just push buttons and maybe Ford??? Hope it helps.
This pic is not my car, just one from the Internet _________________ Anglia 100e modified

Ford did not include a factory-fitted radio until (I think) the 1970s, and then only in answer to Japanese competition. They had though for many years radios (or wirelesses!) and fitting kits available for the after market. The Ford 100E Workshop Manual supplement gives full fitting instructions, including a template of where to mount the aerial (antenna, to you). |

I ran into a web page called bendix radio foundation and they have a list of every car that came with a bendix radio from the 40s up to late 70s. And to my surprise they have the Anglia and cortina using the same bendix model 6bef radio in both cars. Even the service manual 2094486 are the same for both cars. That mite be the answer of why my friends Anglia has a cortina radio but could be wrong. Anyway thanks to you guys for your help. Gregory _________________ MR. EXPORT MAN |
