With the prices of the Anglia 105E getting higher by the day, people are converting left hand drive cars into right hand drive to get more money for them when it comes time to selling them. Such is the Case with some people that I know. So how can you tell if the Anglia 105E is a original right hand drive car from factory?? Do they come with any kind of tag or # on the fire wall or on the block that can tell you if it's a original right hand drive?

105E indicates RHD.
106E indicates LHD.
Like many British cars of the period the dash was a symmetrical design to facilitate either side drive. My current Morris Minor convertible was converted to LHD and the only part we had to buy was the steering rack. At the end of the day i doubt whether that type of originality really matters.
Just my opinion.

Here's a link. Apparently, id plates are categorized as pre 1962, 62-65 and post 65. It's all there.

HI GARY. WENT TO THE LINK YOU SENT ME AND WENT TRU ALL 3 ID PLATES. THE ONLY ID PLATE THAT SEEMS TO TALK ABOUT IF THE CAR IS LEFT OR RIGHT HAND DRIVE IS THE 1965 ON. BUT I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS KIND OF PLATE ON 105E ANGLIA. THE LONG SQUARE TYPE. IT IS VERY RARE TO SEE ANGLIAS THAT ARE RIGHT HAND DRIVE IN THE USA AND IF I HAD THE OPTION OF BUYING ONE I WOULD. THIS IS THE REASON FOR MY POST. THANKS FOR THE INFO... GREGORY

An early Anglia 105E before 10/63 will have a triangular I.D. plate mounted near the battery i.e 105E-8703 ( Sept., '59) a smaller tag next to it i.e 106E LHD or 105E RHD. Also scratched on the L/H top mount will be the same # as on the I.D plate.

Why would you convert a LHD car to RHD ? For export to Countries like GB ?
Not easy without RHD equip. i.e. steering box, wiper arms, pedal ass'y, door lock, etc.

Hi Peteleo. Have a friend with a 68 Anglia 105E that has a tag on the fire wall next to the heater box that read LHD. Does this stand for left hand drive? Thanks for you info. Greg

I havea an original RHD Anglia at home i just inherited .... its easy to convert a LHD to RHD but its a lot of work .. parts needed are
wiring harness,
foot peddles
steering box and arms
gauge cluster
master cylinders has to be relocated and the piece of steel needs to be welded to reinforce the spot where the cylinders are located
and a bunch of little other things.. I wanted to convert one of my car at one time but its to much unnesseray work. Look at your friends car if it is a 68 it means it is one of the very last Anglia's to be produced . The Identification tag should have the Nummber 1 under the spot that say drive (on the vin tag) to indicate if it is a RHD and the number 2 to indicate if it is a LHD. Many people who have own anglia's never seem to have the correct tittle for the car.. we recently purchase a one owner anglia and the title was written incorrect .

Hi Reggie. My friends Anglia tag has nothing that say drive on it. This tag look like a diamond when you look at it by the way the letters and numbers are written on it. Even though it looks like a square. It has the following , vehicle no, model no, paint code , trim comb no. That's it. This post was to identified the differents between a real right hand drive and a fake on. Not because i want to convert one. It would be unnesesery for me. To much work like you say. I like anglias the way they came from factory. I would just like to know just in case one shows up one day and I could look at it and say, that's not a original right hand drive, but thanks for your info. Greg ... By the way say hi to Capullo.

Yes Capullo is doing a great job on My Anglia.. I will see him saturday.. anyway the car could be original but the title certainly is not. If the car is a 68 the id tag should not be a diamond shape style. It should be about 4 inches long and two inches wide .
