Corsair and Taunus by Michael, on Flickr

Iíve come to the conclusion that my collection of European Fords is more of an albatross to me than anything else. This year I would like to find new homes for the Corsair and the Taunus 17M sedan. The Corsair and the Taunus havenít run in years, but are not seized. Except for one hole in the floor the Corsair is surprisingly sound, unfortunately the Taunus has a lot of rust.

Price is negotiable (I'm not looking for a lot), however I would like to see them go somewhere where they have a decent chance of being made road worthy again. Consider taking both, they are both 1500s and make an interesting comparison between the then still independent British and German branches of Ford.

Send me a PM if interested.

Once my Mini or my Imp sells I will have some funds to get that Corsair, been wanting one for a long time and really wasn't sure about importing one, this one would be perfect.

I have two Imps, one is complete and lots of new parts fitted and still working towards building it, rebuilt motor and suspension, other car is mostly a rolling chassis with a straight cut gearbox, but no motor.

1966 Imp

1966 Imp ex-race car.

Interesting, I knew that I have seen that before, a friend of mine sent me these pictures some time ago showing me his Imp and I guess yours got in the mix. Who did you buy it from originally?

It was bought from Jonathan Audette in Virginia and he bought it from someone in Washington state. I bought it from my friend Mark Costello who scavenged parts he needed for his Stiletto.

I am selling my '71 Mini and my Imps to buy a Stiletto and want an English ford as well.

This is the Stiletto I am buying and importing:

And my 1971 Leyland Clubman MIni van built in Australia, rebuilt motor.

And I tried to buy that red one, too, to no avail.

I do really like Imps, the Stiletto would be very nice to have and a rare sight over here too but I guess any Imp is by now. Here is one I contemplated buying, my friends and I talked about putting a VW transaxle and a turbocharged 13b rotary in it. It would have been a blast.

The last one I bought was in 2001. Had Minilites and bucket seats. I drove it home for $1200. Only thing I ever did was change clutch slave cylinder. Sold it a year later for $2200. Sigh...

Latest thing in the Imp world is to put a BMW motorcycle K1000, K1100 and K1200 motor in them. Anywhere from 100 to 120hp or more with fuel injection. The Stiletto I am going to buy has a K1200 in it. Clark Dawson makes a conversion kit that allows the BMW motor to mount to the Imp transaxle so no mods are made to the car itself.
