Re: 1968 Lotus Cortina on BAT

Never a fan of the Mk11 regardless of the model (yes, I know they are good cars!) and they just never had the same appeal as the Mk1's - this one looks fine but that is the most pitiful video I have seen in a long time. I posted on BaT, saying so but BaT has a habit of eating posts so my labours wer...

No photos of the trunk, the underside, that rear axle and the engine area etc...and the price IS high.

Re: BAT: '68 Cortina GT

Not much of a fan of bright yellow. Do like the color of your old LC though Bret. Looks more like a darker shade of yellow with a bit of mixed brown paint. Don't know about how the rest of the group feels about this but having doubts that this car actually only has 12K from new ? I always ignore su...

Re: BAT: '68 Cortina GT

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1968-ford-cortina-4/ I threw up a bid of $5K (Brian_M) to try to keep the children, the dreamers and the www.w*nkers at bay, those who bid $1000 on a Ferrari etc, or use the year as their bid (or even the engine size) but I was outbid. By $100, so that's me out of ...

If that's Canadian dollars, that's about $10,600 USD correct?
Close enough but still pricey.

Mk1 Cortina GT...again, Yes, again!

Okay, same as before...still looking for another Mk1 Cortina GT to replace the one I foolishly sold. :( :( :( Ideally in reasonable condition throughout - though NOT looking for a rustbucket and I don't care too much about the drivetrain as I will probably replace it anyway, as I tend to do, :D Idea...

For sale - again...

https://vancouver.craigslist.org/search/cta?query=cortina&sort=rel&srchType=T No affiliation - looked at it last time it was for sale and decided it needed more work than I was prepared to do...just like last time! It's been on here a couple of times...I believe it started (recent) life as a racer w...

"Been there, done that! Unfortunately (for me) he doesn't want my Elan otherwise I would have Frankenstiened this one...my last GT with 240hp was nice but I think something north of 300hp would be even more fun" So you spoke with him, is he firm on that price? Didn't talk with him, just did the ema...

Re: 1966 Cortina GT Canada

Yes it is a nice looking car, I actually hesitated putting this advert up thinking that maybe I should buy it???? I have the missing badging and a nice new set of Lotus quarter bumpers that would go well on this car. Reality, common sense and my Wife won out though so here the ad is. Been there, do...

Re: 1966 Cortina GT Canada

Agreed, looks well done, now all I have to do is persuade the owner that they need to take my Lotus Elan in trade! :D

Now, where I leave that spare S2000 drivetrain I had?

I could sit and watch this kind of racing all day..
Ditto - and during this Covid thing I have been doing a great deal of that!

Saw my first real race in the early '60s and will watch almost any kind of racing but I still prefer "this kind of racing" every time.
