MK1 Fuel Sender

Hi looking for a fuel sender for my Mk1 Deluxe. Anyone on here have 1?

Hi Brent,

Test first before removing the sender unit, remove the wire to the sender and touch it to ground any bare metal part of the car. Turn ignition on and watch the fuel gauge needle advance to full. Turn off ign. If it reads full sender bad. If gauge doesn't move either voltage stabilizer or no power.

113E Smiths sender same unit as used on the Lotus Cortina and are difficult to find or expense.

I can rebuilt EnFo senders with a winding machine i made. I have a rebuilt 113E sender but it happens that Andrew, Corsair, also needs one too.
If your sender is bad remove it by tapping loose the retainer ring and bring it along to the Danville British car meet.

Pete, The gauge works, the sender and tank are all varnished and the float is praticly non existent

Lots of brass floats are available on ebay. Adjust the arm hook to match the best float.

Check the variable wire wound resistor with a analog volt meter by moving the arm up and down. Should read ~22 ohms to ~220 ohms.
