Seems like a decent car. Don't know about the color, though.

I threw up a bid of $5K (Brian_M) to try to keep the children, the dreamers and the www.w*nkers at bay, those who bid $1000 on a Ferrari etc, or use the year as their bid (or even the engine size) but I was outbid.

By $100, so that's me out of the game

BaT needs to ban these idiots...

Yes the colour is odd, it reminds me of my 67 Lotus Cortina. Mine was originally born in "Dragoon Red" paint but someone before me decided the orange was nice?Image

Not much of a fan of bright yellow. Do like the color of your old LC though Bret. Looks more like a darker shade of yellow with an bit of mixed brown paint.

Don't know about how the rest of the group feels about this but having doubts that this car actually only has 12K from new ?

I always ignore such nonsense and the fact that it shows 12K tells me that it has either gone round once, twice or more, the odometer has ceased to be - it is a dead odometer - or it has in fact done only 12K.

Multiple choices here, little of which is relevant given the car was not and never should have been a trailer queen.

Buy it, stuff in the wellie and go from there.

It may have the original 12K. What concerns me is the engine was swapped in favor of the '70 motor. So we don't know the true mileage on that engine.
There is quite amount of rust on the rear axle and drum plates, assuming the car sat outside during most of its life.

Wellie is Brit slang for Wellington Boot, as in Rubber boots to you Americans. So somebody who drives aggressively uses a lot of throttle, ie. has big boots. Hence the Brit phrase of "Giving it Wellie", plus of course the come on to a mate to "Boot it" meaning accelerate quickly.

I think that's the most they'll be offered.
I think you'd be an idiot not to take it.
