Twin cams are interesting but not a good bang for the buck proposition. They are fine from a vintage racing point of view on a car that was a TC car from the factory but otherwise a very expensive solution without much advantage. Even my Formula B car , Holby TC when new, will probably be running a ...

But then you end up with all that messy electronics. And a rather large engine. Hard to imagine needing more than the output of a half decent pushrod 302 with alloy GT40 heads and a single 4 bbl. Simplicity is a virtue. Make it light, make it stiff in the body shell, use soft suspension settings and...

I doubt it would be possible to swap input shafts although I have not tried. There are a number of different versions of the T5. I was looking into such a swap myself a month or so ago. A few articles seemed to say a T5 from an older 4 cyl Thunderbird turbo coupe would work with a Kent as long as yo...

First one I recall was about 1970 in North Van, I would have been about 12 years old at the time. . It seemed strange, but I found it pleasing. For quite a while I didn't really know what it was. The Mercury Capri had recently been introduced with a fair bit of advertising and I assumed it was an ea...

They are substantially bigger than an Anglia. As is the sedan version. Actually all the British Fords have quite a few shared characteristics. But lots of differences as well. I always thought the Capri was a good looker, however they were poor sellers. For some reason the Cortina was tremendously s...

1600 head
Remember, a formula ford head costs serious money and in theory at least does not deviate much from "stock" condition. And they are built in decent numbers allowing the engine builders to get a good handle on efficient production. My point is that head modification that optimises performan...

1500 GT head, pre cross flow
Does anyone know if the 1500 GT head used the same basic casting as the regular 1500 head ? I know they used different valves , springs and port alignment rings but is the basic head casting also different ?

They look a lot newer than the S.U.'s I am used to. By the mid 1970's S.U.'s were largely a thing of the past in North America due to emission's regulations. Stromberg's were then fitted on North American market vehicles. These are probably from a British spec , non emission application. You don't g...
