Rear Axle Seals

Post by Lance54 »

Burton Power says their Cortina Mark 1 rear axle seals can be installed without a seal.

Seems to me that the use of the original leather type seal or a suitable rubber lip seal would be best.

Does anyone have experience with the Burton Power bearings without a separate seal?

Cortina MK2 has a sealed axle bearing. Haven't tried those from Burton.
MK1 axle bearings and separate seals are still available here.

Pete, that's is the bearing kit I received from Burton. They say to install them
without a separate seal.

I don't see an issue installing these sealed bearings. Burton has an excellent reputation.
