Re: Thames proud moment
BigFred, Your avatar pic always reminds me of my Thames back in the 70's. Here is a pic of it after 35 years of basement storage...just as it looked in the 70's. (kinda resembles yours). Back then, the Pinto motor was just installed, drove around the yard a couple of times, and then the long hiberna...

Re: strut insert installation
Thanks Brett, I always wondered why would it make any difference. Could it be for a proper fit? or did the engineers really figure in some complex spring vibration analysis?

Thames proud moment
I have about 5K miles on the Thames now after getting her on the road a few years ago. It was at one of my first cruise-ins back then, a young local free lance writer spotted the Thames and wanted to do a story on it. This also an opportunity to share my story with you. Without this site and your he...

Re: strut insert installation
Sounds straight forward as I expected. I have heard where oil is added in the old housing to dissipate the heat from the strut insert, but was not sure if I needed to do this. Car is not driven in a performance manner, so I will leave the oil off as suggested. "A spacer at the bottom if needed&...

strut insert installation
I am looking for instructions on how to install strut inserts for my 300E. I ordered these inserts several years ago and delayed installing them long enough. Most curious is whether or not anything is needed to cushion the strut at the bottom or the top. And should I fill with oil. In addition to th...

Re: CL-1953 English Ford UTE - $3,500 (CO)
just curious.... AI (google gemini) says the following: "The Ford Anglia/Prefect Ute (1950s) was a unique vehicle that combined the chassis and front cabin of a Ford Anglia or Prefect car with a custom-built tray in the back. This conversion created a car-based ute that was perfect for the Aust...

issue with icon?
hi all, in trying to post an image, I noticed all the icons above this text box are "square boxes". Only when you hover over them can I get a description of the icon. When I click on the "square box" for the "insert image", text appears in this message window instead of...

if I am correct, the british sterling is more favorable to the US dollar now, might be a good time to buy from England? Which supplier in England does not sell to the USA (litigation reasons) ?

Re: Save the planet - "Drive a Classic"
I heard its been brutal in that part of the country. I even heard some factories are closing ...not because of the cold...but to lighten the load on the electrical grid. I heard on the radio where Ford is asking their dealers to help..... https://wgntv.com/news/ford-asks-texas-dealers-to-loan-f-150s...

Re: Brett's 100e Anglia
looking good brett,,,I have to ask, regarding the grill, did you remove every other vertical bar? It looks menacing! I like it. How did you mount the front bumper guards? I have been thinking of hangin' something off of those tapped holes in the front frame rails.
