Installing Capri top strut mounts should drop the front suspension by about an inch. They should bolt right in provided your not running the roller bearing type strut mount.

Yes they are the same bushings on the pitman arm as the idler arm. The ones on the pitman arm tend to wear out quicker than the idler ones. While apart, make sure the pitman and idler shaft is smooth. If rusty make sure you sand rust off before replacing the bushings. Lube bushings with a light grea...

You can also look up under the dash and make sure brake fluid is not leaking out around the push rod boot. There is basically one main seal in the master and if it isn't doing it's job properly, the fluid will leak by the seal and out the back of the master instead of being forced down the line towa...

I used to have great difficulty with bleeding these until I discovered how to reverse bleed it on the car. It's easier to force air bubbles uphill than it is downhill. All you do is have the master cylinder pretty well full, reach down and pull the clutch release lever forward all the way until the ...

Congratulations and thank you for posting your news. 14,000 miles, that great. How solid is the body?

Michael
Well the only real rot on the body is on the RF fender where the garage roof was leaking on it for 30 some years. There is some surface rust in places underneath but no holes.

Pics of what's left of the other car

This one is a 67 GT. What's left of it is fairly solid having been stored in a body shop for several years.

A guy pulled up beside me and said he had a buddy with two cars like mine that were only about an hour and a half drive away-I could hardly believe what I was hearing. He said the guy was planning to restore one of them. I g...
