Weber 32DFD

I recently rejetted my weber 32DFD. Used the suggested main jet sizes for 1600 GT (export). The engine is in a TVR and since it has headers I consider it a GT spec engine. I used 160 and 140 jets. I would like to replace the rubber "bushes" that secure the air cleaner. Is there a supplier ...

gasket

I cut a gasket from regular fiber gasket material. If you have a very good used or NOS gasket I would be interested.

Let me know costs and payment details. thank you.

parts

Pete

I am interested. Is the rubber bush with spacer inside set against the air cleaner housing followed by the washer then the lock plate and finally the nut.

This is for a MK2 around 1968.

Let me know the cost and preferred method of payment.

Thanks Bob

lock tabs

I would appreciate a photo.

I am piecing this together. The engine did not have the air cleaner.

The studs that are on a spare carb (only 3) have an unthreaded portion at the carb "flange" is there a spacer that goes between the carb body and the air cleaner case?

Thanks

Cortina MK2 air cleaner

How is the metal air cleaner housing attached to the Weber carb? I have seen 4 threaded studs fit to the carb but I have threaded (5MM) holes which I have used socket screws drilled for safety wire. My concern that the screws could loosen and be ingested into the engine.

Thanks

speedo gear

It appears I need a blue or 25 tooth gear. There was a white gear in the trans that now has a portion of the gear stripped away.

I do not require the alloy housing. According to the TVR owner manual I have the rear ration is 3.89:1 and the car has 15 inch tires.

1968 cortina "bullet" gearbox speedo drive

Looking for the speedo drive gear and shaft that fits into the transmission and drives the speedo cable. As I understand the 3.90:1 rear ratio should use a 25 tooth gear.

Thanks

problem solved

As strange as it appears, I have solved my running problems by replacing the Weber 32DFD carb body with a spare body I had. We assumed, after a long process of elimination, that it was possibly a clogged passageway in the carb. The carb in question had been the subject of a complete "profession...

vacuum advance

I would like to add to my previous message. I have the distributor vacuum advance plumbed from a port on the carb on the "valve cover side" to the distributor. Originally Ford used rubber boots with hard vacuum tube. Is it possible that the rubber hose I am using is collapsing under vacuum...

Weber 32DFD substitute

I am still attempting to get my crossflow to run properly. The carb was rebuilt wrong and I have corrected all those problems. I still have a pulsating rough running around 4K to 5 K RPM. I have ruled out electrical issues as I ran the car with the coil wired directly to the battery. The tach is rea...

new distributor?

There appears no way the 1243A in my FoMoCo distributor is compatible with the standard rotor and cap. I am using the Pertronix new distributor D1906. I am uncertain at the present but it may be giving me problems albeit it is new. What new distributor could I purchase for my cross flow 1968 GT spec...

1243 petronix

I found on the net an older application sheet for Pertronix. They listed the 1243 unit for the cross flow motorcraft. This may be why the distributor rebuilder used it. I did call Pertronix and they say they do not have the Cortina GT crossflow with motorcraft application listed. They also do not pr...

1241

If your 1241 was a lobe sensing unit as opposed to a trigger unit then it is a 1241LS. LS=lobe sensing.

Where can I get the proper rotor and cap for this Motorcraft unit? I may be able to compare the rotor and cap presently have and compare.

Pertronix in motorcraft

I had my distributor for a 1968 GT spec crossflow rebuilt by a "specialist". He installed a Pertronix 1243-A Ignitor. This is a trigger model. I was told by another parts "specialist" that the motorcraft distributor for the Cortina crossflow GT engine should use the Pertronix 124...

booster vacuum source

The picture with the emission details is difficult to see. I printed it out in several enlargements and the details are blurry. I believe my engine is GT spec. If the PVC goes to the large vacuum port as shown in the other drawing you posted, where does the booster get its vacuum? Looks like I shoul...
