Re: Mk2 Lotus Cortina on BAT

It is not a Lotus Cortina. It is a Cortina with a twin cam in it. It is not advertised as a Lotus Cortina, ony as a Cortina with a twin cam. Just setting the expectations.

Re: Kent L Block $250 Canadian

That's a good deal if the block isn't cracked and over-bored too much. It even has steel main caps. Too far for me, but if I was closer, I'd buy it.

Nice looking car at a decent price. Wish it was closer and had a title. I already have too many cars without titles!

Re: Cortina MKII Zetec Conversion

Nice conversion and nice looking Cortina. I am getting ready to do a swap in my 1969 Cortina Mk2 Estate. Crate 2.0l Zetec, same Ashley header, but going ITBs. Using Jenvey throttle bodies and Motorsport Electronics ME221 with their pre-made harness. I paid for the RetroFord water rail because I want...

Doug,

Is that the race car one? How much are they asking for it?

Re: 1991 Fiesta

Doug,

Are you sure it's not a Festiva? The year sounds about right. Otherwise, Burton Power in the UK would be your best bet.

Doug,

How bad is the rust? Rear fenders and rocker panels?

How much is he looking to get for it? Mileage?

Thanks,
Dan

Maybe you could consider one of the EcoBoost engines from a big variety of Ford products. They seem to be plentiful and relatively inexpensive. Keeps it all Ford then, too. They make gobs of power and loads of torque. Wiki link here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_EcoBoost_engine#2.0_L_(2010%E2%...

Daniel, When you say you've tried every trick to remove the bleeder screws, what exactly did you try? A 16P caliper is the same regardless of where it comes from. A 16PB will differ in both fitting size (10mm metric vs. 3/8-24)) and bolt hole mounting size (diameter - special caliper bolts required)...

I found this. The next point is that THE ONLY CAMSHAFT THAT YOU CAN USE IS THE ONE LISTED IN THE FORMULA FORD TECHNICAL REGULATIONS and I quote:,The only permitted camshaft is that specified for formula ford use,Part number 771m-6250-BA.The camshaft must remain entirely unmodified. It must be fully ...

That's interesting. The 701M casting in the cylinder blocks would be for a Lotus twin cam. Not sure about the camshaft.

Those valves look like they are sitting a little too proud of the head surface. I have an uprated FF head that I can take pictures of this weekend if you want to see what they look like.

I think you're better off finding an uprated head (they come up for sale quite often on the apexspeed forum or ask for one). Despite Dave's experience, you're taking off 0.100" of the head, making it even more susceptible to warping when it is hot. Not sure if this one is still available. https...
