Re: Tie rod rebuild kit

Shipping cost from England are ridicules. I had some body seal shipped from England to Detroit last year and it cost me $72 USD, The original quote was $125 USD. They ended breaking the package up into 3 shipping bags (YES, thick plastic bags) after I begged to find a way to reduce the cost on a $23...

Hi Anglist,
I would like to suggest, you move this to the for sale section. I would think you would get more interest there. I would also add the pictures of the rust areas to reduce the number of questions.

Just a suggestion,
Bob

Langlia,

Agree 100%! Maybe now they will become a better place to find cars and parts. Hopefully the scammers will be gone since they would have to pay $5 for and ad and the dealers with there 100 ads across the country will be gone to!

Lets hop for the best!

Cheers,
Bob

Craigslist Car Ads No Longer Free

I don't know if anyone noticed but Craigs List is now requiring a $5 fee to place ads. Just in the last 4 days, I have seen hundreds of cars previously on craigs list drop off.

Glad you figured it out and it’s working the way it should. The littlest things can take the longest to figure out.

The advantage of bench testing is that you eliminate any possible bad grounds, corroded wires and connectors. You can also swap in and out components much easier. Clean the connectors on the components with a wire brush or small file prior to testing. I would also soak the sending unit float in gaso...

I think you should be booted off the forum for having the longest thread in the history of the world..... Just kidding! :D Since you have gone through all the parts individually is there a chance of taking all the parts off the car and set then up on the bench and test them as a system? Meaning the ...

Why the different tail lights on these Taunus P3 Wagons?

Here are two Taunus 17M P3, both are listed as 1961 models. The red one is in California and the white one is in Montana. Does anyone know why the tail lights are different. My Guess is that the tailgates open differently. http://www.enfostuff.com/forum/userpix/203_00D0D_gpZwlj3pW0r_1200x900_1.jpg h...

The larger diameter is to handle more power and torque. A 1/4 turn of the driveshaft = 1/4 turn of the pinion gear no matter the diameter of the flange.

Well, the original generator for a 1969 cortina was only 25 amps. So depending on the electrical load you add, will tell you if 43amps is enough.

So how many amps is the ECU, I wouldn't think it would be a lot. But electric cooling fans or a big stereo could add a lot of electrical load.

Hi Harry, Thanks for all the info. our plans for vacations this years are already made so hopefully we will make it in the future. I have read a lot about the Taunus 12M p4 because of my interest in the Mustang I concept car that used the P4's drivetrain. I also had a few discussions with Roy Lunn w...
