1958 Zephyr?

https://vancouver.craigslist.org/rds/ct ... 00166.html

No affiliation, just stumbled across it when I was (again) searching for a rust free :D MK1 Cortina GT.

Re: MK1 Cortina fuse box.

In over 50 years of Mk1 Cortinas, never felt the need to add a fuse box on stock vehicles.

Re: Found Even More Cortinas (& Parts)!

The engine parts are sold. The cars are (I believe) sold complete. I was told "Make a fair & honest offer". Tough to make a fair and honest offer on that lot - what is fair and honest for some is an insult to others...and the variety/quantity makes it tough to come up with a number which makes sense...

Re: Cortina MK1 Estate

A little profit is one thing, but that's just crazy! Can you say "greedy"? I've also never figured out why people only own these wagons for a short time. Agreed, having worked my way through a variety of Mk1's, basic, GTs and LCs I am now ready to lay hands on a wagon (Mk1 of course). I was set to b...

Re: '63 LC Clone

Not the first time this has been to the dance... I politely (politely for me at least :D ) requested more info on the car. "Nice car but you really need to stop using "Lotus" anywhere in the ad - that is wholly incorrect, Clone is also incorrect - call it what it is - a Cortina. That said, I am inte...

Re: Ford Cortina '67 GT 5 speed

It's been for sale for several years now. First by the owner, then Park Place and now (maybe a couple more in between, too), BaT. Looking at the dyno sheet, I find it interesting that the max BHP figures are around 130ish and torque about 100ish. The stock ST170 (SVT) motor makes Horsepower: 170 hp...

It's gone, didn't reach the reserve I guess.
It is "gone" because it not only met reserve, it surpassed it.

Re: Cortina wagon for sale

Wonder if he would swap for my Lotus?

And he could keep the drivetrain as I would be inserting something a little more exciting in that space! :D

Re: Lotus Cortina MK1 '67

I wonder if this is the same car that I used to see on Craigslist when I stayed in Palm Springs? I loved going through Craigslist on my vacations there, I would imagine buying something nice down there and driving it back to Canada. If genuine - and it looks it to me - you will have to bring a big ...

Re: Crossflow Cortina on BaT

It got bid to $24250 not sold. If the s2000 engined one from the week before sold at $30000ish, which I think was more car, the c/f should have been let go. What do you guys think? Gary in AZ If you look at the comments (too many of which are mine :D ) you will see that the owner either had little ...

Re: CL-1965 Cortina Race Project - $6,000 (BC)

Took a quick measure and it's looking about 5mm from the front struts, pretty snug but never had an issue. On the rear I'm pretty similar with my deep dish 'Lotus" wheels, interestingly enough slightly different gaps on each side but I'm told this is pretty standard. Minilites give me more of a gap...

Re: CL-1965 Cortina Race Project - $6,000 (BC)

How is the clearance at the front between the tire and strut, the Mk1 strut is a bit tight there. My GT had 13" 205s when I bought it, no clearance issues, can't remember the profile but it was probably 70. If it helps, I then went with 14" wheels with 185/70s on mine...no clearance issues anywhere...

Re: CL-1965 Cortina Race Project - $6,000 (BC)

I am glad the codes worked, I see you got the steering wheel in the right place. Do you remember what the asking price was on the red one back then? I vaguely remember around the $5K mark with all the bits and pieces thrown in and (again VAGUELY) remember when I met with the owner prior to this gen...

Yes, the last time I looked at that auction he had some answering to do.
Usually the seller is ready willing and able to answer all questions even if they don't satisfy.

On BaT things tend to go badly when the seller fails to respond...no matter. still a long time to go.
