Re: 1967 Ford Cortina Imported Trade Trades Trading

Yes I do remember this one, is the current seller nuts? He has only had it 3 months and already he wants rid of it, perhaps the car is not even worth the original $7700 and certainly not more. I wonder what is wrong with it that he is not mentioning?

Re: Parts For Sale #5

Hi Bob, I will commit to a set. I am curious, I assume they have the valve retainers too as in the photo and can you tell me if they use the stock valve keepers? I assume that you are a PayPal user? I know shipping to Canada is not cheap but what the heck, too bad you didn't have this up for sale wh...

Vancouver All British Field Meet 2020

I received an email from the organizers of the Vancouver All British Field Meet saying that there still may be a possibility for the event to take place later in the summer, of course this would depend on how this Covid-19 thing unwinds? The original show would have been this weekend before it was c...

Re: Mk II Cortina Advertisements and Images

Great ads, that is a strange front bumper on that Australian Mk2. Looks a bit like a home made Lotus quarter bumper?

Don't forget that on that gearbox 4th is not a gear, is just direct drive with the input shaft connected to the output shaft.

Re: 3.54 Cwp

Hi Mark, I have played around over the years with different ratios all on 13 inch rims, the highest ratio I ever had was a 3.7 in my Lotus Cortina and that felt just fine for a long highway trip but the twin cam loves to rev. When I had my old 1600GT in a 105e I frequently swapped the 3.9 and 4.1 an...

Re: 3.54 Cwp

Brett, took my diff with new bearings, crush sleeve, and seal to a local shop. They assembled it for $125 USD. Langlia, If you contact IWE, let us know price and availability of the ring and pinion. It would be interesting to know the labor price, but I can have the labor done locally again. If he ...

I would be curious to know what it costs to overhaul and replace ring and pinion.

Re: Tie rod rebuild kit

Where do those insane numbers come from? Is that generated by Ebay by mistake or could a seller really be out of his mind?

Re: 1951 Ford Prefect - $8800 (Kerrisdale)

That's hindsight for you, I have a few vehicles too that I should have kept. I had this RHD Cortina years ago that I parted out in my back yard, Fred took a number of bits for his/your car. I can't remember most of the bits but the front grill was one of them for sure. https://i82.servimg.com/u/f82/...
