Re: 1965 Anglia 105E on FB Marketplace

The Market Place Anglia looks like it sold for $11.500 but we only know that was the asking price. The BAT Anglia finished at 9 Grand.

Re: new to the site

the lotus has turned into one of those "I might just as well " projects , I took the gearbox out about a month ago to change the clutch and fix the jumping out of reverse gear problem , when I bought the car the previous owner had thought it a good idea to paint the engine bay battleship ...

Re: new to the site

If you are using a Widows type home computer just edit/resize your photos down to around 1100 or so pixel width, that seems to work for me. So the BDA is going back in the Cortina?

Welcome aboard, it looks like you have your hands full of Ford work. I know the picture posting never seemed to work for me so I use the picture posting host from another site and I just save/reuse the codes.

Re: Perana inspired 1968 Cortina race car on BaT

But if DMV checks that against the ID number on the strut tower, you could be in really big trouble. I know that it's not standard practice to do it that way and I guess it could be considered illegal but I think of it as just replacing the body of the car. I remember when I worked for BMW we did ju...

Yes, I wonder who wrote that advert up? The car looks quite nice though, I wonder what it will fetch at auction?

Re: Perana inspired 1968 Cortina race car on BaT

I think the fact that it has no title is not a big problem, on older vehicles like this you  just get the VIN plate and papers from a previously dismantled Cortina if somebody has some. In the past I had bought a few 100e Fords that were only good for breaking but I did save the VIN plates and paper...

Re: '76 Escort RS continual project.

Yes, I can see why it doesn't do much at lower revs, the high lift is good for torque but that long duration kills the lower end.

Re: '76 Escort RS continual project.

It's interesting to look at the cam lobes, is that a very high lift cam or do you know the specs of it? It has the appearance of a regrind to higher lift, the base circle seems to be lower than the casting of the actual shaft? I remember back in the day having Shadbolt's regrind mine to this spec an...

Re: 1965 Anglia 105E on FB Marketplace

Canadians were lucky to get the Super versions in N. America. I noticed the MK2 trans, Brett. Did the stick shift foul the handbrake lever. Yes, that is the 2000e 3 rail GT box in there, if I had known better at the time when I modded the Anglia I would have just put the 2000e gearbox guts into the...

Re: 1965 Anglia 105E on FB Marketplace

My 1966 Super had the 1200 engine, wider brake shoes/drums, exterior chrome with carpeted interior and padded dash. I found some old pictures of it before I painted and modified it too much. https://i82.servimg.com/u/f82/17/10/84/53/wilkie16.jpg https://i82.servimg.com/u/f82/17/10/84/53/wilkie17.jpg...

Re: 1972 Ford Cortina Wagon on E-bay -- Again

This still makes no sense? The car a in the last few auctions was offered with no reserve and there were many bids so it should have gone to someone? It is now back again with a buy it now option for $14500. I would definitely not trust the seller. https://www.ebay.com/itm/144339274884?ViewItem=&...
