New member here. I don't currently have any classic cars but am active in automotive history research. Since Ford data is more readily available than others, I've accrued quite a lot; particularly data on production, sales, deliveries, etc. from the 1940s the world over.

Here in the states it would probably be called a 1958-model car. In Germany at that time, though, makes were still usually registered by calendar year.
