Thanks for sharing those. Any chance of seeing the Ford Heritage collection? Wish I could but that is way down South in England and I am head ever Northward in Scotland. I think viewing might be by appointment too? https://www.carthrottle.com/post/fords-heritage-collection-is-a-treasure-trove-of-pe...

You're correct Michael, it is about the memories and emotions as I recall the Alan Mann cars. Frank Gardner had won the 1967 BSCC in the Alan Mann 1964 Falcon Sprint, narrowly beating the 1966 BSCC champion John Fitzpatrick in the Broadspeed Anglia. But of course the 1967 win wasn't of much publicit...

That Escort brings back memories of watching them race back in 1968/9 at Brands Hatch and Crystal Palace here in England. Frank Gardner won the 1968 British Saloon Car Championship with an Alan Mann Mk2 Cortina Lotus and then the Escort. Both were powered by 1600cc Cosworth FVA Formula Two engines w...

Ah the famous Ford V4 or more commonly known here as the V3, lol. Love the rear window louvres, quite a common accessory back in the day. A friend had the same model of Capri and one morning found it further down the road from where it had been parked. Some lowlife had tried to steal it by rolling i...

Nice cars Gary, I have a soft spot for both models. The Zephyr would be snapped up over here at that price. You lucked in on that PA, looks very nice indeed and good that it's owned by someone who won't mess it up! I saw it on BAT a while ago and it was a bargain. There is a Yahoo group for Vauxhall...

Kiwi, I didn't know you had a 60 Buick as well as your gorgeous Cortina. neat pair. My two are the big 'n little fin club, lol. Anglia is all original with 32k on the clock. It was funny to see it in my rear view mirror on the way to the show, it looked so small. Likewise I followed the Anglia on th...

My Anglia & my other car at a show

Image

This was the first time that my Anglia and Impala were displayed together at a local show here in the UK. Sorry about the fat old bloke photobombing the picture, lol.

I now realise that I met Ken many years ago on a visit to the States. His 100E Escort was featured in a British magazine back in the late 70s I think and I recognised it when I went to a car show. He's a very nice guy.

My friend used to own that Consul, it's a very nice car. It runs a Mk3 Zephyr 4 engine with some tuning parts and an overdrive, it motors along quite nicely. Funnily enough Jaguar Land Rover now own it as they bought a very large private collection in which the majority of cars were Jaguars. It must...

Hi Brett, At one time Ford set up the Heritage Museum in Dagenham. Not sure what happened to that museum. This time of the year there should be some Ford meets or gatherings around the Country. My wife and i are talking about traveling to England next year if time permits. Enjoy your stay. Pete Tha...

Lovely car and in great shape. Here in the UK they are still very popular and good ones are hard to find. I had a 1960 Zodiac with just over 40k from new, drove beautifully. The exhaust note is lovely too, very distinctive. Oh and a tip that I picked up from Kevin who is the guru for these cars. Whe...

Very nice find. estates are rare these days. I think they may be the rarest type of Anglia. I've had two, they were fun and useful too. I notice that it even has the metal surround on the middle side window, they usually rust away!

Nice story, I bet Helga was pleased to know that the Taunus survives. I haven't seen one of those here in the UK for many years although I have seen a 1970 Taunus 20M Coupe at a show, sold here new. By coincidence yesterday I received my latest model car from Atlas Editions, these are reproductions ...

It must never have seen salty winter roads and must have been garaged and very well looked after. I'm guessing that it would have been quite expensive when new especially with all the accessories it has so the owner looked after it very carefully. Thanks Gary. Kevin at ZMS says he has his name down ...
