Re: 2020 FORUM CHANGES!!!!

Is there a way to identify new posts since I last accessed the forum? The old forum had that option. Thanks.

Yes, Merry Christmas to all.

My project is a long way from being roadworthy, but I hope to be a lot closer in 2020.

Took another baby step in my project. Figured the gas tank was as good a place as any to go to next. Got that removed today. Considering the rust on the lower sections of the body, I was surprised that there was only a little surface rust on the tank. There was about a pint of gas in the tank which ...

To an innocent bystander the photo below just looks like four torqued-down flywheel bolts. To this Enfo owner it represents the first progress on my project in several years. LOL. Finally got my friggin flywheel re-bolted to the crankshaft. Now onto the clutch, tranny & driveshaft. On a side not...

Couldn't find the correct size on the ARP site. I picked up a bolt from the local NAPA auto parts store. It's the correct thread size (5/16-24), socket size (1/2"), and length (just shy of 1") in Grade 8. Unfortunately it's threaded all the way up the shank, unlike the original. I'm not su...

What is "special" about that bolt Fred? It has been a while for sure but I seem to recall it was just a hardware store bolt. I don't have a good answer for that question. I just know that when I posted an inquiry about these bolts previously, I was provided a specific set of them. They ha...

This is a combination project update, confession and parts inquiry. A few years ago, as part of my project, I asked this Enfo community about the availability of some small parts I needed to correctly mount the flywheel on my Thames 300E. A previous owner had mounted the flywheel with an assortment ...

Thanks for the encouragement. Should be this week I'll be getting back to it (despite the high temps here in NJ).

UPDATE: After checking with tire places all over the area for a 155 or 165 width 13" tire, I found a decrepit old junkyard that said they had some. The guy went in the back and came up to the counter with a brand new (NOS) Goodyear 13 x 155 tire. Said it had been in their inventory for a long t...

I've checked with two tire places that said they wouldn't put a 175 tire on the rim I have. They said it's just too wide for that rim. (Not sure what width rims a Morris Minor has.) I did have one tire place offer to get me new tires (155/80R/13) for $65 each.

Widest tire on Thames 300E rim?

I'm getting back into my 1959 Thames 300E project after a long layoff (long story). I need to make it a roller in order to work on it, but one of the tires is totally unusable from sitting flat. I'm trying to find a used tire that will fit on the stock rim, but not having any success. The tire that ...
