Thanks Brett, enjoy your trip. I have joined the two thick wires that went to the regulator and one of them is permanently live so I’ll have to take them apart and see what I’ve got. Everything else is as you’ve shown. I’ll post results. Thanks again.

Old topic but one more question to pose. So I managed to fire up the twin cam but I have a problem with the alternator getting warm and the battery draining. I found that the switched , thick brown and yellow wire on the alternator is always live, 12 volts. I followed the previous instructions for g...

SU carb identification

I’m trying to identify which, exactly, model SU carbs are on my twin cam in place of the original Strombergs. I’ve read that the tag tells you this information but I can’t figure it out! I need to get a couple of repair kits . Thanks. http://www.enfostuff.com/forum/userpix/485_A88C76334F05461F...

I know when I bought my 1970 GT there was a lot of rust in the filter of the fuel pump, ended up removing the tank getting it cleaned up and an epoxy coating added to the inside. As another precaution I added an extra fuel filter in the line.
Good luck, Lee.

66 MK1 GT Cortina parcel shelf

Does anyone happen to have the above piece? If someone does and is kind enough to give me some dimensions I plan on making my own one seeing as they seem to be practically impossible to find. Thanks in advance.

I’m referring to the ‘slide’ lever on the heater unit in the car. No electricals involved. But thanks.

Just a follow up here on the heater control. The Triumph one you gave me the lead on Pete turned up, will work good I think. The only issue is that it will be in the closed position when the indicator inside the car shows hot and vice versa. Not a big deal, I have got a local place to make me up a n...

Thanks gentlemen, a good alternative Brett, also a good lead Pete, the Lotus one I found was over $360 in Oz.... why is it people get carried away when you put Lotus in the search.... I figured it must’ve been used in other cars.ðŸ‘￾

Heater control question

Quick question on my heater control on my twin cam. I would have thought that I should be able to set the open and closed positions on this unit but it ‘springs’ back to the same place when I let go of the small tab in the slot? Consequently it is too stiff to operate on the heater inside the ca...
