Perhaps the yellow paint has faded, not unsurprisingly given where you live. But they denoted to the authorities that it was tax exempt.

Very nice. I have no problem with "more doors." I know the Brit plate is year correct (D suffix for 1966) but an export temporary would have had a yellow border back in the day. I'm guessing it was just an add on. Nothing wrong with that, of course. Good luck.

I believe so. In the comments, a guy named Lou who is the Lotus Cortina registrar in the Us alludes to the fact this has happened several times. He says they should do better due diligence on Cortinas to remain credible. He is not wrong.

It's very similar to a MK1 Consul, Zephyr shape, not surprisingly of course.

L like that it exposes the curves on the bottom of the fender. It's a good look. Your choice of course.
