I grew up in Northern Rhodesia (Zambia) where we were surrounded by English Fords, and my dad bought the very first Zephyr Six to arrive in our area in 1953.
We stuck with Fords throughout the 50's and early 60's. It was only the fact that we moved to South Africa where they weren't as popular, that we stopped, but we did have a Cortina in '65.
I will dig around for some photos and see what I can come up with.
The one car that I don't have a photo of is our 1955 Zephyr station wagon, which was dearly loved by the family, but here is a list of what we had in that period:
1953 Zephyr Six (metallic green)
1955 Zephyr Station Wagon (white)
1959 Zephyr Six (white)
1959 Consul (grey)
1960 Zephyr Six (Sunburst yellow)
1962 Anglia 105 E (two tone silver)
1964 Cortina GT ( powder blue)
1965 Cortina 2 door ( grey)
1965 Consul ( two tone blue)
1965 Corsair (white)
Add to that our 1960 Fairlane 500 and I think we did quite well!
