REGARDS FROM URUGUAY!

Post by ssmk277 »

Hi all,

My name is Santiago Siniscalco and I live in Montevideo, capital city of URUGUAY, in South America.
I knew from you as Ale06 (who lives in Argentina) told us about you in a forum that we have in our country.
Please find the link below, if you know spanish it will be interesting, or just to take a look at the pictures:

As all of us here, I am an enthusiast of old cars, specially Ford's ones!
Actually I own a 1977 MK2 1600 Sport Escort, I am second owner of the car, it has only 44.000 miles, and it is in fantastic shape, condition and working order. Everything is original, and working great: radio, lighter, instruments, etc.
I also own a 1971 MK1 1300 GT Escort, which has been prepared for racing competitions, as since 1994 (at the age of 19) I am member of the Uruguayan Sport Cars Club, in which I participate in these competitions here in my country, by the way with very good results  2009 National Vice Champion... I also went to Brasil twice, and in both occasions (2004 and 2009) I won the races!

I just wanted to introduce myself, and to let you know who I am.

I would like to share some pics of my cars with you, but unfortunatelly it seems I do not have the chance to so, or at least I can't find it...
Cheers,

Santiago

Welcome Santiago. Yes we would enjoy seeing pictures of your cars. If you can't post the photos, maybe you can post a link?

Where were your Escorts built and/or assembled? I think I heard that Ford did assemble some Escorts and D-Series trucks in Uruguay in the 1970s.

Hi everyone!
You're totally correct.
In fact the only country in the region where these cars were assembled was URUGUAY! We were really lucky, and we can nowadays enjoy many of them running our streets and highways!

Here are the pictures of my cars, hope you enjoy them, as I do with them!!!

At the moment, my MK2 has front 1/4 bumpers, english look alike plates and finally I got the rear rubber spoiler, which I installed last week!!!

Hope you liked them! :D
Cheers,

Santiago

Those are very nice, I wish the U.S. had imported RWD Escorts. Thanks for the pics.

Welcome to the forum, great looking cars.

If you want you should be able to upload photos now. New users are not able to upload pics, until I go in a change a setting.
