Done lurking. Stepping in.

Post by JOEL HERSHOREN »

. I joined the site years back but have always been one of those dreaded "lurkers ".

Spent most of my "adult" life with Volvos and Alfas.
As i kid i always loved and admired British Fords.

Ten years ago ( ish ) i happened on a 1967 Mk2 Gt sitting in a local junk yard. Turns out it had been parked since 1972 and in dry storage until a few months before it arrived there.

Along the way a Mk2 Race car project and Fiesta Mk1 race car somehow found the driveway as well.

Progress has been non-exsistant to this point as i am involved at the local race track, and i was one of those work 60+ hours a week guys.

As you may find in another forum post, i have the honor to chair the Vintage events for Waterford Hills. A true labor of love.

Cheers all !
Joel

Ya know...I've enjoyed a few wagons too which I guess to be honest I think the same too. I've owned a 1967 Citroen id21f Safari wagon, 1962 Mk1
Austin Mini Estate (not a woody) and another 1964 Mk1 Austin Mini of the same model that I sold on bring a trailer two years ago. Miss that one!
I looked for a Mk1 Cortina Estate before I bought my Mk1 GT but couldn't find one....just too rare here in the US.
