Well, not really a new guy to English Fords, as I've owned a multitude
of them over the last 30 years, but just last week I purchased a special
one...

Just a little '73 Capri, with a 350HP 302, 5 speed, 9" disc brake rear end, 2.8i
Capri front brakes, custom interior, lovely little car to drive, even though I had
to move the drivers seat back an inch and a half. Really gets up and scoots...

Wow! Nice looking car. That would get up and scoot! What is the weight of the car with a V8?...about 2500 lbs? Is that a T5 trans? Love to see some more pics of engine, interior etc.

Steve,

Welcome to EnFoStuff. Did that car used to belong to a guy is the SF Bay Area? It looks like a car I saw at the Fab Fords Forever in Buena Vista in 2005.

Yes, The car was formally owned by Gary Darnstaedt, from Hayward CA.

Sorry to hear about Gary passing away (met him once briefly). Looks like his pride and joy is in good hands.

Not sure what it weighs, I need to run up to the truck scales, haven't had time
to do that yet, will probably do it this coming weekend and let you know...
Just as an asides, it saw the naughty side of 100mph in 3rd gear yesterday
while getting on I-90 from the SR-405, I just *HAD* to get by a bluehair
and Q-tip pair going 35 in a 60...

Here are a couple engine pics...
