Greetings!

Post by gearjam1 »

Hi! My name is Tony, and I'm from Carbondale Illinois. I have been collecting, rebuilding and restoring cars and trucks for quite a number of years. For my day-job, I'm Sr. Library Specialist for Morris Library at SIU-C. I currently am also a full-time Engineering student, and I have a family of 5. Time to work on cars as of late, has been very thin... I hope to learn quite a bit from the members of this board. -Thanks!

Welcome Tony. What sorts of cars do you have? Any Euro-Fords?

Thanks,

Michael

Hi,

Currently my meager resources keep alive a :

1926 Henney Hearse
1950 Jowett Jupiter
1964 Pontiac Sport Coupe
1988 Formula Fiero V-6
1991 740 Volvo Turbowagon
1997 VW Cabrio Highline

-Even though none of my vehicles falls into the English Ford category, I had been looking for a motor to replace the V8-60 that had been taken out of my Jupiter, prior to me buying it... I purchased a 1967 Ford 20m TS motor to replace the missing replacement Jupiter motor, and figured this would be a great site to educate me regarding this engine. Other than owning a MK-3 Fiesta in college-I have very little experience with English Fords. -Thanks, Tony

Hi Tony,

That's a very eclectic collection of vehicles! The flathead V8 in a Jowett Jupiter sounds like an interesting conversion. The new engine you have bought for the Jupiter is German Ford as I'm sure you know. Assuming it's the 2 litre V6 it was never fitted to any English Fords. The 64 Pontiac Coupe brings back memories of my 63 Grand Prix and 66 2+2 which I enjoyed owning back in the 80s. Still got a big soft spot for 60s Ponchos and always have a hankering to get another one.

Welcome to the forum!

Sounds like a great collection, I'm partial to "different" classic cars myself.
