Hello ENFO group,
I have visited this site many times and finally decided to join.
I have a 66 2 door GT that I've just installed a new, slightly
modified pre-xflow into. I live in Southern California and have had
Cortinas for the last 20+ years. I really enjoy driving the Cortina
and love the simplicity and performance of the car.
Thanks-Ken.

The Cortina looks great, just as it should. I like the fact that you have gone to the extra effort to re-install the pre-crossflow so it has all of its oniginal parts. what is your guess on the power output? 95hp? 100?

Gary,
The power feels good. With the parts I have, the spec should be about 95bhp. I wanted to go back to a "period" type car. I'm really having fun with it.
Thanks

That's really nice! Love the period look and it's so clean. Thanks for looking after one of our very fine exports!

Ken,
Welcome. Your Cortina looks really sweet and I too appreciate the pre-crossflow. Will you be taking the Cortina to Fab Fords Forever at Knotts Berry Farm next month?

Michael,
While the event is less than a few miles from my house, I usually only walk into to the show and do not display a vehicle. The Capri guys usually have a nice turnout. KA

Ken- very nice GT!
I too have a 66GT and I'm currently looking for a painter to complete it. Also, noticed your front quarter bumpers/brackets and was wondering where you got them? I'm in the process of gathering essential parts needed to compete the car so I can enjoy it for another 19yrs.
What were some of the modifications you made to achieve your 95 hp?

Thanks Steve!
I actually made the brackets but you can buy them from the MK1 club.
As for the engine, I cleaned up the head, installed an A2 cam and forged pistons with 10:1 CR. I also re-jetted the carb along with bigger chokes.
Everything was balanced and it seems to work very well. I had a crossflow
with dual webers but wanted something that was a little more tame and period correct.
Feel free to contact me if you need more info.
