If I do make the trip...that won't be an issue - but I appreciate the heads up.

Here,s what he said,

Gary,

Right now, I have 2 guys in front of you and a few after.

The first person is supposed to look at the car on Saturday, if the first two deals fall through, I’ll let you know.

The answer to your question is yes, I appreciate you asking first though.

I will PM you his email address.

So, first nice day for me to take the Elan out, top down of course, no grandkids, garden work, wifey things etc to get in my way.

Very enjoyable indeed...wind in the remainder of my hair, exhaust fumes up the nose and such like - but I am again/still on the hunt for another Mk1 Cortina GT, ideally on the basis of a trade/swap thing.

Funny thing is that the Elan feels as fast - and a LOT more controllable than did the Cortina (I should never have sold,) you know the one, stuffed a 240hp S2000 drivetrain in the poor thing  even though both cars weigh about the same and the Elan has allegedly 40hp less.

Ah well, I'll keep looking, at a safe social distance, for my Mk1 Holy Grail

PS, this is NOT the 'original' Elan so don't go flinging money at the screen in hopes of securing such an icon :?

PPS, if none of the above is of interest to you, please ignore. :D

I watched an episode of wheeler dealers where they fixed up your model of Elan and had nothing but good things to say about it. Bodystyle is not for me but I can appreciate the mechanical side of it. :)

I agree, I just don't like the side view, way too short - maybe I should chop it behind the drivers seat and add a couple of feet.
