1967 Ford Cortina Estate BAT

Post by Brett Wilkie » Wed Mar 24, 2021 11:37 am

Here it is again, I swear that there must be something wrong with this car as nobody wants to keep it, maybe it will go for a more sensible price this time? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1967- ... 2021-03-24

This seller said he bought it from a guy in AZ which might mean he was the guy who bought it at 12000 so it did not sell when the ad previously disappeared.

I guess that could be, maybe my memory is fading but I could swear that this car or one like seems to be for sale often. The seller is a bit defensive to my suggestion saying this in his statement, "2 owners ago" and that alone suggests that it has been changing hands.

carma (The Seller) This author's likes: 42
"look at video absolutely nothing wrong its a 1967 car has not changed hands frequently 2 owners ago had it for 7 years has excellent history ,everybody that owned it wanted it and passed it on there are no negative remarks by previous owner, each owner took excellent care of this car as seen in remarks and driving video."

I noticed the seller got huffy when asked why he was selling it after 3 months.
I hate to say it,but I hope he gets burned on the deal.

Yes, I saw that too, he should just be up front on why he wants to unload it, the way he said makes you think he is hiding something??

He is hiding good manners.

Problem is that if someone comes right out and states what he was asking for on Craigs, the BaT algorithm deletes that post - trust me, I KNOW!

PS the BaT algorithm is actually a 400lb guy, living in mommy's basement, clad only in dirty underwear and reading every post on BaT. :D

I didn't know that about BAT, are posts censored at the request of the seller?

I seriously do not know, there is a "flag" where commenters can have comments deleted, appears to be an automatic function and appears to be relatively few flags needed for that.

Do BaT censor as well? We may never know as I have asked that very question over the years and have zero response.

I put in a bid of $12,001 - thereby giving the seller a profit, so I expect that should be the winning bid! :D :D :D

I've long suspected that they do censor many comments -
have you noticed when they get a listing that you say "Really?" to,
it will have nothing but positive comments?
Did anyone notice the rubber bumper MG Midget that just sold?
It was registered as a 1972 (including a swapped ID tag) to avoid
smogging it in California. This was pointed out to the seller.
Do you think the seller did the right thing,& pull the listing?
Of course not,& neither did BringaTrailer.
This is HIGHLY illegal,& could get nasty if a DMV clerk caught it.

Here we are, BAT censorship at work, just because he was asked why he is selling it? The comment was removed in spite of having a number of likes.

Sold for $18,030 - that's a $6000 profit.
Let's see if "Bis"'s comment gets deleted.
