It is not a Lotus Cortina. It is a Cortina with a twin cam in it. It is not advertised as a Lotus Cortina, ony as a Cortina with a twin cam. Just setting the expectations.

I have my suspicions too about if it was a factory Cortina Lotus of just a Cortina with a twin cam installed in it? I don't know if the VIN plate is fake but it indicates a factory twin cam. Vin decoder. https://www.lotus-cortina.com/mk2plate.htm
The more I look at the VIN decoder, the more I feel it has a VIN plate lifted from a real Locort, I think the body is a later than 1967 as well, I had a 67 Mk2 Lotus Cortina and it had the early, high dash and other little clues like door lock position. The trim code shows also black interior? I just went to look at the registration VIN of my old Lotus Cortina and was shocked to see that the Vin is exactly the same as my car, WTF?

Seller said, " Original shell was replaced due to damage in '91".
Can it be, Brett, VIN tag came off your damaged '67 LC and re-bodied using a '69 Cortina GT.

The more I learn about it, the more I think that is the case, there is no doubt that that VIN tag is from my car. I never actually took a photo of my VIN plate back in the day but I still have all the documentation from when I bought the car in 1973 and it is one and the same. I would love to know what happened to my old car?

The Body is a 1969. The interior dash, center consol, and passenger seats are 69/70 as well.

Yes, it is definitely a newer car, mine was a series 1a Mk2 that started life as a red car but had been painted orange by the time I bought it in 1973, mine also had the high dash and all black interior with no clock in the console as in the photos on this Cortina page.

I have been in touch with the fellow I sold my car to in 1984 and he told me that he exported the car to Jamaica, of all places, don't where from there?
Here are some pictures of my old Cortina and the registration number compared to the blue car in the auction.

Not just back to North America but right back to the Vancouver lower mainland where it started from?
