Cortina and Capri at Local Car Shows

Post by rodsgarage »

I've had the Cortina and Capri in storage for a few years. I have a 64 1/2 Mustang 289 4 speed and 72 Buick Skylark GS Stage 1 that I take to Hot August Nights and local car shows all of the time. My brother and I decided to take the Capri and Cortina to a couple of local car shows this month to see the reaction. We could not believe the positive feed back and interest in the cars. They are going to be regulars at car shows in the future.

Thanks guys. I want to hear your ideas for a plate in NYC. I've been fighting DMV over my original choice for the Cortina for a few years now. I built a bracket and mounted the front license plate on the Capri and I am going to design a bracket that sets it back a inch or two but I think it looks better than the stock location on the front of the bumper. The Capri will be 1 1/2 to 2 inches lower in the spring. Now I have to build a bracket to mount the front plate on the Cortina. Image

Kiwi is that a plate from 1970 or the new black plate? I thought about getting the black Legacy plate they offer now since the original plates were black but I've had the white ones for years and have to turn them in if I order the black.

I've got a brand new - never put on a car,
set of Black/Gold plates (3 letters/3 numbers) that
I'd sale - for the right price.
Remember - Nobody EVER says "COOL PRIUS!"
