XXX pack Escorts

Was the X pack or indeed XXX pack at all released in the US markets?

I remeber seeing a film a long time ago and I am sure that a Black Mk2 Escort was in it - The type of film was a college kid sort of thing

Any info ??

Mk1 & 2 Escorts were never imported officially into the US. I think the first Escort sold there was a version of the Mk3.

This is correct. There was a sort faux X-Pack version of the Capri II sold here called the Capri R/S.
