well I am glad i found a site here in the states for the old brit ford cars ..Any way I picked this little guy up this past summer it is a sweet and very clean 1964 GT Mk1 like I said Very clean inside and out check it out I picked it up from the 1st and only owner he got it in 64 in KY. it one of the 1st in N.A. enjoy the pics.
It looks in very good shape. A few interior/engine pieces seem to be missing but they can still be obtained.
The Cortina Consul GT is quite rare in the U.S. By your I.D. it was made in October 1963. It looks like its still wearing the original Monaco Red paint.
Thanks for sharing and "welcome"! Your car has some nice patina and as Pete mentioned some of the missing interior bits can be sourced.
Have fun with it and please stay in touch on this forum we all enjoy EnFo's.
GT's are very rare here in the UK let alone in the States. As it was built in October 1963, coincidentally the month that my father bought a brand new 1200 Deluxe, it must be one of the first ones to have the round instruments instead of the oblong panel. It looks to be in pretty nice shape too, wish it were mine.
thanks all as of now I am getting some head work done and I am in such of a complete clutch assy. with every thing if anyone knows were i can find one it would help tons thanks
You can have the pressure / disc plate rebuilt but a 6W-1 3/8 T/O bearing would be difficult to find.
Use the diaphram clutch ass'y from a MK2 Cortina. Dave Bean 209-754-5802 sells the complete conversion kit which includes the pressure / disc plates, T/O bearing and 1/2" spacer for the T/O bearing carrier. You can still use the original slave cylinder. This would be a better set-up than the old spring coil clutch.
well me and my brother got all the parts in and all thats left to do is bleeding the brakes and some rubber hoses, and rubber on the road
