My Trip to the North East

We went to see our Daughter's graduation from
photography school ( Hallmark Institute of Photography
in Turners Falls,Mass.).
Got to visit with Bob Woolner, who hosts the Lotus-
Cortina (Cortina) Forum,in New Hampshire. Also,I noticed
that "Sports & Exotic Car" magazine is based in Bennington,
Vermont (about 1 hour away from our motel in Brattleboro,
Vermont).
I went to Bennington 3 times.Once to "scope it out",
the second time with the Wife (on the way to Horseheads,NY),
& the third time to attend one of their cruise nights.I got to meet
3 of the editorial staff of Sports & Exotics - nice guys!
I also got to meet Gary Anderson, near Boston. He has more
Cortinas & Elans in one place than anyone else I've encountered.
I don't know how he does it!
We also got to visit Watkins Glen,NY.The race course their
is kind of like Sears Point, etc.,but the original street course (6.6 -
miles) was a blast to drive (in the rental car - Mazda 6).I drove
it twice.I can't imagine doing that at speed in an MG TC.
We also ate breakfast (& dinner) at Seneca Lodge. This a
historic place where the racers stayed/ate back in the days.Very
cool & very affordable.I wish we'd had the TR6 with us.
Vermont/New York/Mass/Conn,is a very scenic place this
time of year, but it does nasty things to vehicles in the winter.I
don't know if I could even put a daily driver to the road salt/etc.
that they have.Maybe we'll stay in California.
I want to go back.......with a British car!
