Car Show!

Post by stanchfi »

Good news: Took the Anglia to a car show today and won an award!

Bad news: I had to push it there and back (it was only a 1/2 block from my garage)

I went out to the garage yesterday, and went to push it back a little to pop the hood to charge the battery and found the brakes were frozen. Stepped on the brake peddle a few times to break it loose, a line broke. Figures I could still use the hand brake. Found out the battery in the car wouldn't take a charge, and my other battery was bad as well.

The top 25 award is cool, but there were only 32 vehicles there total :D

Amusing. I suppose there is another way to take an Anglia to a car show. There are some of us that would drive +100 miles to show our cars.
Did they charge you an entry fee ?

Anglia looks good, lucky the brake line broke now and not when you were driving.

Yes, $10 entry fee, but it goes to the local Lions club, so I can't complain.

Yes, there are much worse places for your brakes to go out.

I had a 79 Suburban that the brakes went out while stopped at a stop light, I briefly couldn't figure out why the car in from of me was backing up, then I realized I was the one moving forward. Quite a unsettling feeling.
