Valvoline VR1 Banned in California

Post by angliagt »

.... along with non-detergent motor oils,
as of 3/10/2016,by order of the Government State-
of California.
Now I'll have to smuggle some in from Oregon.

Here's the Senate bill: http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces ... 20160SB778

I believe that this bill doesn't apply to old cars.

Racing oil VR1 has high content of ZDDP which is not good for catalytic c.and is not street legal. There are other brands you can use instead:
Amsoil, Lucas, Royal Purple, etc. that has ZDDP.

I found this out, while checking prices at the local NAPA,
went to check VR1,but told that it,& all of the non-detergent oils
had been pulled.
