Cortina MK2 air cleaner

How is the metal air cleaner housing attached to the Weber carb? I have seen 4 threaded studs fit to the carb but I have threaded (5MM) holes which I have used socket screws drilled for safety wire. My concern that the screws could loosen and be ingested into the engine.

Thanks

It just sits on top of the carb, with the support
going to the engine/manifold.

The air cleaner to carb nuts are secured in place by safety lock taps.
I can send a picture if needed.

I would appreciate a photo.

I am piecing this together. The engine did not have the air cleaner.

The studs that are on a spare carb (only 3) have an unthreaded portion at the carb "flange" is there a spacer that goes between the carb body and the air cleaner case?

Thanks

Bob,

Pictured is a mounting set for one side and safety plate ( need four sides and two safety plates ). I have extra mounting hardware if needed including the 1600 GT air cleaner.

Pete

I am interested. Is the rubber bush with spacer inside set against the air cleaner housing followed by the washer then the lock plate and finally the nut.

This is for a MK2 around 1968.

Let me know the cost and preferred method of payment.

Thanks Bob

Order of ass'y:

1/8" rubber gasket fits on top of the carb first ( pictured ).

Air cleaner housing fits next

Install spacers. rubber grommets. washers. safety plates. nuts.

Do you need the carb / air cleaner gasket ?

I cut a gasket from regular fiber gasket material. If you have a very good used or NOS gasket I would be interested.

Let me know costs and payment details. thank you.
