Unfortunately, GM is maybe closing the Australian factory also by the end of 2017. Eliminating another 2,900 jobs. Claiming that not enough Holdens are being sold.

Both the Holden and Ford plants have known about the closures for about 2 years. The Bathurst 1000 which was raced this past weekend was the last time for the Aussie V8's.
My old Holden Monaro.

Brent,
Mixture of Aussie-American styling. Very attractive.
BTW: The Danville British car meet for tomorrow has been re-scheduled for next Sat Oct 22. Maybe you can make it then.

Brent,
Got a notice this morning from the Danville BC meet that registration is closed and that they aren't accepting anymore cars at the gate.
Hope to see you there anyways.

I just went online and got entered for the event. It showed there were 20 spots left and registration closes in 1 day. See you on Saturday.

Brent,
This morning they weren't accepting anymore cars. Unless now they decided to open up an additional 20 spots ?
Anyway, glad you can go. I entered the Zephyr this time just for fun.
See you there,
Pete

Sad day for Ford and for Australia. In the next year GMH and Toyota will both shut down their Aussie factories and that will be the end of the Aussie auto industry.
