Is this perhaps the last LHD Lotus Cortina made:

Didn't they still make LHD ones in 1966?

Do you not count the MKII?

They say it's a 1965 but when I read the VIN it looks like a 66 if this decoder is correct?

He certainly made a mess of the dash area, looks like crap.
I guess that you were meaning last Mk1 Locort? I had a 1967 Mk2.

I read the last page but it still means little - do remember that of the 3300+ Mk1 Lotus Cortinas made there are still 4000 left on the road.

ID tag on the car does look legit. The Cortina-list forum is following this car.
Lance Brown mentioned:

I had fb59998 a few years ago. I was told it was the third to last built.

Did a bit of research. From the Lotus Cortina information site:
http://www.lotuscortinainfo.com/?page_id=430

About 1/2 way down the page. Shows Fred Bushell taking the last LHD LC
type 4 from the Cheshunt before Lotus moving to Hethel.

Again still debatable if FB6000 is the last ( true ) LC built.
