Cooling fan upgrade

Escort (1172 Sidevalve) runs a bit hot. The two bladed fan is not moving much air.
Is there a simple replacement that will increase airflow?
Thanks,
Pete

Flatheads usually run cool. There maybe other issues that would cause the engine to run on the hot side. Ignition too far advanced or retarded. Try 160 thermostat.

I had the rad on my old Zephyr re-cored. Due to advances in technology they were able to double the capacity whilst retaining both top and bottom tanks.

As Peteleo says, there, there could be an underlying fault; the fans aren't effective above a very low speed anyway above which the movement of air through the radiator is down to the car's speed.

Generally, either water isn't flowing into the radiator at a fast enough rate (blockage in the engine or radiator or hoses in between); or air isn't flowing through the radiator mesh fast enough to move the heat away, due to this being blocked.

I agree. Something else is at fault. My '48 Prefect also has the 100E sidevalve, 2 blade fan and not even any shroud around it. After sitting for several years, I wanted to flush the system. Added a new 160 deg stat and let it idle for an hour with the bonnet open. I checked every few minutes and the gauge never moved off 160.
