It got bid to $24250 not sold. If the s2000 engined one from the week before sold at $30000ish, which I think was more car, the c/f should have been let go. What do you guys think?

There was quit a lot of interest in this car. I think 24K would be a reasonable offer considering it has some paint issues.

If you look at the comments (too many of which are mine :D ) you will see that the owner either had little clue about the car or pretended to have little clue; questions were asked and NOT answered with confidence or clarity, HP figures and RPM numbers were thrown out without a shred of proof - HP figures and RPM which did not jibe with the car idling or with the video.

The GUESS at the weight of the car with the fiberglass/perspex bits was also pure speculation. And the 'location" of those front fenders relative to the suspension mounts??? And held in place by screws???

No question that engine was tasty - very tasty in fact (even with that puff of blue shown in the video when given the full wellie) but? ...ditto for the trans, and that video showing the speedo being pegged just did not look right to me.

Anyway, that's just my overly-opinionated opinion - and don't get me started on the Lotus bits! :D :D :D

One of the last comments said it had been previously advertised for $39.5K, which is nuts, if you ask me.

Yes, he should have let it go I think. I wonder what he thought it might fetch, compared to recent sales it was fair money.

Can't remember now but it always seems like a lot until you look back and think "I should have bought it".

Who was it on here who had a Mk2 Lotus for sale a few years back for around $12K. It was not a green and white car but I kick myself every once in a while for not buying it. Prolly as much as the seller does for selling it!
