The P2 Taunus 17 M (1957 to 1960) has often been compared to the 1956 Ford. These pictures comparing both these cars (in the same colors no less) where photographed side by side at Ford of Canada’s 100th Anniversary in August 2004. The Taunus is owned by EFONA member Jan VanDrunen , but I don’t know who the owner of the ’56 Fairlane is.

Boy they sure do look alike. You can sure see the american influence in the design. The glass work at the front looks like the 53 and 54 Ford though.

Yeah, no wrap around windshield. The side trim seems to owe more to the '56 Meteor than the Ford.
